weekend riding video
So went camping this weekend(for those who know the area, out by the renaissance festival) and the bike was running great. Isn't that usually a sign that something is gonna happen? Well it just happened to be a night where there was no moon out, and let me just tell you it gets DARK in the desert with no moon. So, I'm riding along this trail, and all of a sudden when I hit the throttle i get this bogging,blubbery mess. So I sit and wait and start diagnosing it in my head. Its obviously a fuel problem cuz its running just fine other then when i give it gas. Well I wait for Ken to come back to where I am trying with all my might to keep the bike idling because i know if i kill it there will probably not be a "getting it started". I figure its the plug and that maybe I mixed it too rich. So we hobble back to the truck, me going about 5 MPH cuz thats all the bike would do before bogging down and basically dying. We call up autozone(cuz naturally, my spare plug was not with me) and they have one so I replace that, decide I should drain the bowl on my carb since I was going to modify the mixture a little and add some more gas, when I pull the drain off and my main jet came right along with it. No wonder it woudln't run!! not to mention, thats a quick way to burn through a tank of gas, cuz later I thought my plug was fouling AGAIN and i actually just ran out of gas. luckily we were close to the truck. Woke up the next morning to perfect weather, went for a little ride and played around in the desert. Here's a video for ya.
