    question about lifan motors...

well guys i want your honest opinions on these lifan motors. i am looking at getting a rolling 200x chassis in the near future here, and i have seen these around on the boards here and now i see them on ebay now and again. the ad says they are drop in motors, bolt right up. ok, cool, my question is, has anyone had any experience with these motors? how is the performance out of them? the ad also says says they are compatible with hondas, so does that mean i could use aftermarket parts in them like i would a honda 200x motor? you know, cam valves and springs, etc.. please any help is appreciated. also what about the electrcal systems? do they plug right up to the stock honda wiring?

i heard every thing is identicle, but i dont know if it would be as powerful or reliable as a real honda engine, let me know how it turns out i was wondering the same thing really.

I loved mine. It seemed faster than the stock. I few things to consider is the electric start, lower cross bar cut from frame, wiring harness, and sprockets. I had to cut the lower bar that ties the two main pieces of the frame out. The wiring harness is a little difficult, but I figured it out. The kick start is unusable because it kicks backwards for a dirt bike, so you will need to fix up a battery mount. And I had to grind my stock 200x sprocket quit abit to make it fit the shaft. I believe the one that comes with the motor was 18 tooth. Also, this is a push rod motor. So honda valve train parts will not fit. The stroke is also longer. It is nothing impossible, and well worth the work.

so i will have to try and figure ut how to mount a battery for the starter then? and perhaps a switch to use the starter. not worried about having to kickstart it, might be nice to have that electric start. why do you have to cut out the lower cross bar? and whats the deal with the wiring harness, why was it hard? matching up connections? hmmm, maybe it just better off going with the motor thats ment for it then. just maybe get new seals and bearing put in the bottom end and punching out the top end.
