    Tri-Z "Mashed" Gear

    Can I deburr this and still use this? Or should it be replaced?

    I dont see why not.. if thats for a 85 i do beleave theres a set on e bay right now.

    Its an 86. and I'll just use it, everything else is in spec. Thanks

    I would replace that. It isnt going to get any better. If you only plan on the bottom end lastin about a year, then leave it. But if you arent trying to rebuild it again anytime soon then id replace it because the next time you pull it apart it could have caused damage to the other gears. The gear looks pretty worn to me.

    Ahhh the evidence of shifting without the clutch.You must replace that gear.If you do not,the trans will jump out of gear on hard acceleration.Also check the mating gear that those cogs engage with.I bet the holes are starting to round off on the gear next to it.If so,you will have to replace that one too.
    Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

    Thanks alot it will be getting replaced. I bought this bike with the motor torn down to nothin so i dont know what the guy has done to it...

    Anyone have this gear? I guess i will have to figure out which one it is first.
