250r Waterpumper Guru's Kick Start ???'s Here

Ok I picked up an original one owner 85 250r. I have heard about the factory recall on the kick start assembly. This one slips but not everytime . Is the best cure for this the 86 or later model assembly? Do the cases have to be splt or is it accessible through the right side cover? Does anyone know if Honda will still honor the factory recall for service?

Yep get a later kicker assy also replace the spring that's behind the kick start gears.....you can do the job by just taken the right hand case off no need to split the cases....it's pretty easy ....
and you got no chance honda will not honor that recall after 21 years...

28211-ha2-670 pinion
28221-ha2-670 ratchet
28224-ha2-670 spring

actually dude by law they MUST honor that recall by if its documented and there is no experation date!!!!

Yeh maybe, but pretty sure it wasn't a factory recall but a 'dealer service fix' well over here anyway(UK)........factory recall is for serious faults only not a kick start ratchet......but might be wrong you guys have different laws...
