I do believe Polaris was the only manufacturer to make 4 wheelers first then trikes after. They made the 250 in 1985 and 1986. I think Kawasaki made the KXT200 in either 1980 or 1981

kawasaki was the klt 110 i think, polaris had the scrambler or p3, tigers were more race oriented, custom built bikes. but there were alot of custom built bikes back then, cagivas, huskys, suzuki rm dirtbike conversions... on and on. then you could get into them cheap tri-scat type trikes that were around since the 60's, but they were stupid looking, ill handling things.
