Pictures of my first 350x motor tear down.

Pretty much all the parts to a 350x motor. While putting it together two things were difficult. I had two good cranks. I picked one, and put it in, but every time I'd get it in it would rotate almost a full turn and lock up. Tried the other crank and it worked fine, so I guess I didn't have two good cranks. ANother thing was installing the shift forks, I forgot which case I was working in and put the right fork in the left side of the motor, everything I tried I couldn't get it to work, finally noticed the mistake and it went together fine.

No piston in it in these pictures, top end just set on for now, waiting for rings.

The cam chain noise is the chain hitting/flopping around cause its too loose. To tighten it have the trike idleing. Loosen the 14mm nut under the rubber cap. Its located behind the cyclinder on the sprocket side, sort of strait down from the petcock and just above the front sprocket. (that might just confuse you more) After you loosen it tighten it right away and it should work. If it doesn't work there is another way to do it. But try that first, if no luck say somthing and I'll tell you the other way.

Its running! Got it running lastnight at midnight, finally took it for a ride today. Needs some carb work, little bit of gas leeks and it will idle fast, but then somtimes it will die, the carb was really dirty, probably the problem again. I have a good seat cover I'm going to put on, along with the skid plates, other air scoop, and some other minor things.

Any idea what kind of pipe that is? I was wondering if it was a early Cobra, Jardine, or Kirker?

Thanks, which way did I tell you guys to adjust your chain? The way your supposed to do which is just loosen the 14mm nut or the other way which is take off the flywheel cover, loosen the 14mm nut, go in through one of the holes in the fly wheel and pry up on part of the cam chain tensioner, while your prying up tighten the nut. I worked on it the whole day today, put a different seat on, the air scoop, grips, changed fork oil, and cleaned and installed a different stock carb, now it runs and idles fine.
