hi, i mix my gas at 24;1 with synthetic and add 1/3rd of +7 octane boost (the bottle does 60liters) for my 20 liter jerry can..(i buy 91-94 high test)..i am wondering if this could hurt the motor in any way?

I don't know if it will hurt, but doubt it will help. I've talked to several guys that have had a lot of trouble with octane boost gumming up the carb because it doesn't mix very well. I've never used it in a trike or quad, so I can't say first hand.
I'm assuming it's for your 250R? If you need the extra octane, your best bet is to buy race fuel.

dont wast your money on that octane booster. It dont do crap. I think you could thin out your oil alittle though since you are running synthetic oil. I run mine @40:1.

Yeah its for the 250r, i've only used maybe 3 tanks of it. noticed alitle difference. but not worth the coin, and the 40:1 would probably be about the same since theres less gas...think i'll wait till i get new rings and run them with the 24;1 for a tank or so, then go to 40;1
Thanks guys!

what octane is your petrol in the us? or gas as you call it. here in england its 99ron on the super unleaded, does that add more power on a 83 250r? or should i not be using unleaded petrol in the first place?
87,89, and 93 are the octanes options here.

Higher octane DOES NOT increase power. It is used to decrease or eliminate detonation (pinging) by burning cooler in high compression motors. Do search on race gas or race fuel and you'll find all the info you need. And 24:1 is way to rich. Use a top shelf synthetic and mix it at 50:1 and you'll be in good shape as long as your jetting is spot on.![]()

Mr Sandman is absolutely right.
Any time you change your fuel/oil mix or fuel/oil oil, you may have to make carb adjustments to go with it. Other than that, nothing happens if you change from syntheic to conventional and back again. Monitor your spark plug, and check it often after any changes.
Top shelf is not defined by price and overcharging for it does not make an oil work any better. Stick with well known name brand racing oils, such as BelRay, Klotz, Amsoil, Maxima, Blue Marble, etc. Most of these are sold in small bottles, 12.8oz so they can easily be dumped into a 5 gal gas can for a 50:1 ratio.
sweet, is PJ1 decent?
