Well the market value on trikes is wishy washy at best,I have been keeping close dib's on the trike market, especially the Honda's for quite a few years and have seen major highs and big time lows! Would I pull the kid's collage fund's and invest soley in trikes ,Nope!! But the market on trikes has been where a average '85 250R goes for 4000.00 also, and I have seen show room '85 250R's going for 1500.00!! And how about last year,a NOS set of 350X fenders ,still in the plastic goes for 2175.00,now go figure!!! Supply and demand set the standard on the values and all we have is the history of what has happened over the past years! I would pay good money for a machine that is virtually all stock, but I do watch the market like a hawk also!!

I watch the vintage MX bikes compete at some of the same events as I race my quad. Those late 70s bikes fetch anywhere between 2 to 6 grand and they still ride them like they were meant to be ridden, and they give a lot of enjoyment to the owners.
I think that unless you have a trike that is in unridden pristine condition, use the bloody thing! Its there to enyoy. Thats where the value is. Not cooped up in a museum. Keep it on sand dunes or other environments where they won't get too trashed. The more of us that ride, the more parts are "found/manufactured/remanufactured" the more chance that people will be able to enjoy them for years to come.
Look at vintage cars. People restore them and then use them. The using bit of the restoration process must be the best feeling. Some cars become so valuable that they can't be touched. I'd rather have a replica, at least I could enjoy it.
