    Heres my Tecate trike

    Hey guys. I got referred to this site through another atv site and I really like it. Here is a pic of my '84 Tecate 250 trike basket case. It's missing misc. hardware, but for the most part it's all there. Some idiot welded the sprocket to the axle and the axle needs bearings. I also need a rear brake master cylinder. the frame and front end are good and the motor needs a top end, but seems solid. Is this worth rebuilding or saving for parts? I'd really like to find a 4 stroke kawasaki bike for the engine and controls.

    rebuild that puppy!! tecates are few and far between, you will never regret sinking money in that thing, when you fire it back up and riiiiippppp!!! there isnt a decent 4-poker worth putting into that beast how much do you have in it now?

    oh yea welcome to the site, 2 rulz that stand out here, dont sell out for a quad and wear your helmet!! lol !

    That's for sure! I bought it from my buddy for $250.00. Have not put another dime in it yet.

    nice to see another green machine regain life. should be a nice project and hope all comes out as planned. theres not quite as many tecate owners here as the others like r's and tri-z's, but there is definately alot of info on here for them from alot of good, knowledgeful, people. i am reaching the finishing stages of my restore, and probably couldnt of done it with alot of help from the peeps on here. goodluck on the restore, keep us posted as to your progress.

    Will do. Competition 2 stroke in Benson NC supposedly had 15 tecate trikes for parts. He won't sell a whole bike to make life a little easier, but I'll have to make a list and head out there.

    Welcome to the site....I wish you would have found it a little earlier, I live in Salisbury (about 1 1/2 hours from Raliegh) and I've got an '84 Tecate for sale.

    Thanks Moto, I guess if I'm too late you sold it huh? It may take a while to get it back together. I'm going to take my time and do it right, not worth it to just hack it back together.

    You got some sweet bikes there man. I've always liked Big Reds. Theres an old guy down the street from me and he has a big red and uses it around his big garden. I wish he'd sell it.
