Ha dude, I don't care man. I asked for it! Thanks for all your effort, hopefully I can salvage something.

I be the crank halfs could be blasted and poished good as new.
The electronics seem ok, flywheel is good.. I'm really interested in the left hand engine case. Its better than the one thats on my Z right now. I see 2 chips missing and that crack you were talking about. I also see a chip that looks suspect on the bottom end but I don't think its anything that can't be welded.

Its gonna be a challange. I got the flywheel and stator out, and its been soaked down with PB blaster several times now. Updated pics tomarrow!

it looks solid, lol...but seriously i agree with the bead blasting and soaking....i bet if you soak it for a week in oil and then bead blast it after you get it apart you should be ok, i bet the tranny isnt to bad, remember if you break a bolt off, it isnt the end of the world, if you take your time you can drill them out perfectly, use the right size bit with a helicoil kit and the threads are stronger than stock... just remember to use new bearing and seals, lol....

Alright well a little more progress. Got the flywheel and stator out. Not too much drama other than I wrecked my flywheel puller. Looks like I have a decent usable electrical system. yay.

Well my liabilities seem to be one chip and some damage to the clutch lever actuator housing. Shouldn't be too terrible to weld. I just gota get some practive on aluminum first.

I kinda almost thought this was a lost cause for a second. I was cleaning the bottom of this thing with a wire brush when I unearthed a blobl of jb weled slather accross both halfs of the case. Luckily the blob was covering a small hole on the right half and the bottom of the left half is in good shape.

Tomarrow I'm gonna try spliting the cases and then the real fun begins, getting the bearings out without destroying anything. And tips on getting the dumb needle bearings out?

Well an update, or maybe TADA!!!

Here's my cases. All blasted, welded and almost ready to go.

The welding isn't unoticable but I'm very happy espeacially since they were welded for FREE! Did a little grinding to smooth out the welds.

The clutch actuator area is repaired wonderfully couldn't be happier.

Another shot. I'm not sure whether to just run these naked, or paint/powder coat them. Can't decide.

    Final shot.

Well I think my $30 dollar engine cases turned out pretty well. The only thing I need to do yet is thoroughly lap them. The gasket sufaces are rough and I'm sure that a good lapping would make the engine fit together better. So thats next on the todo list. I'm thinking I'm just gonna build a whole engine then swap it into my Z and redo the other engein cases as well. This one's gonna be done with the YZ ignition and setup for MX. If they get coated, I'm thinking bright yellow.

So can anyone tell me what my best options for all the bearings might be? Every last one is getting replaced. Does DADS do all bearings or just certain ones? Gonna hafta PM him.

I also ended up with a good Z crank, trans minus an output shaft, and some other tri-z odds and ends. Overall a good haul for 30 bones.

I think you should put it back in the toilet and try flushing again. Don't touch that, you don't know where it's been.
