Is the only way to get the brown tarnish off of old axles is to sand it off or is there a special chemical you can let it soak in to get it off?? I want to restore my old stock 350x axle but I don't really know what to use to get it completely off of there.

use prep all or you can use a high speed wire brush. i would go with the wire brush. ive bin there with my trike.
