I took my papers to the DMV today and couldn't get stickers. After doing just about everything minus getting into a fist fight with the lady over the fact that I DON"T HAVE a certificate of origin neither do they require it I left. I'm gonna try going back tomorrow and talking to a supervisor or something.

If you dont mind my asking...how far is Ocala from Orlando?.....We just got back from a week at Disney amd i just kept thinking how nice it would be to ride down there in Fla....I was thinking it would be cool to drive down next time and bring my quad or trike and ride for a day.

    Billy (and others)----

Go to the Tax Colector's Office, with your VIN numbers and say that you ARE THE ORIGNIAL OWNER of the listed bikes, and would like to apply for a title and off highway sticker.

Tell them there is NO cert of origin, NO title, and that you WANT TO APPLY FOR and PAY FOR one for each bike. You will have to sign an Affidavit of Ownership ---- saying that you are the origin owner and that there is no "bil of sale" and that the bike has not been titled in another state.

    That's it.

If your local DMV or Tax office does not do it, Come to Highlands County, and give your buddy Wheelie King a call.

http://www3.hsmv.state.fl.us/Intrane...R/tl/TL-44.pdf Check out page two one that link. Print the page out & tell that over paid government worker to learn there job. They should have a copy of the rules. I have read a lot of similar stories on Atvflorida. A copy & past below.

    A. To issue an original Florida Certificate of Title for a new or used off-highway vehicle
purchased prior to 07/01/02, the following documentation should be submitted to the
tax collector's office to be screened for completeness and accuracy:
    1. ONE of the following:
    a. A Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO), showing a complete
chain of ownership to the applicant.
    b. A bill of sale (must include the year, make and vehicle identification
    number of the off-highway vehicle).
    c. A notarized/perjury clause affidavit of ownership (must include a
complete description of the off-highway vehicle).

Here is a link to a from that is says you need. Good luck. I am going in tomorrow to try to get mine.
    http://www3.hsmv.state.fl.us/Intrane...lpak/82040.pdf

After reading further. It looks like if you bought a ATV after 7/01/02 you might have to jump through hoops. I have to get plates for my van tomorrow so I will see what I can find out when I am there too.

Well I talked to the right person and got mine this afternoon with zero trouble. The excuse for the one lady's incompetence was "We don't really do many of those, and only me and another girl know how to do them up." Government efficiencies at its best, office full of 15 or 20 workers and only 2 people can actually do their job

Ronnie, get yours registered before you come back out so you aint got to worry about the man writing you a ticket for more then the registration costs. All you need is a bill of sale with your name, sellers name, make, model, price, and VIN#. If they give you *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* at the DMV print off that page dreadhead linked to and give it to them.

What if you've had your bikes for years and don't have a bill of sale and even know the owner who previously owned the bike? Geez it's such a hassle ti go ride out there now.. I'm not liking this at all man.. I didn't get *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* last weekend out there. It's not even that much fun anymore with all the damn rules they got!

dont get those panties all caught up now! you will probably have no problem, as long as you try to stay with the group, now if you fireroading by yourself down the rd and a ranger sees ya, all I gots to say is GOOD LUCK, but seriosly dont worry, I brought down 7 machines last time and they were going in all kinds of differnt directions and only becouse me and jason took off down the wring way did we get caught.

If you dont have a bill of sale then you.... http://3wheelerworldforums.com/showp...&postcount=248

Unless you got some *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**E dited* at the DMV that doesn't know what their doing its pretty painless. Seriously, I didn't want to do it either but decided its worth ponying up and doing it to go riding at this place and with everyone else. It is a hassle, and I acknowledge that but its better to be legit, even if you just look at it from the stand point of not being the renegade outlaw three-wheeler rider that the general public thinks we all are.
