    1970's 300X??

I was talking to a friend this evening and he was telling me that he used to have a couple atc's in the early 80's. He said he bought them the same year that he got married, so it was 1983. He said they were both 4 or 5 years old when he got them, so that would make them late 70's models. He said they were sport oriented atc's and he thought they were 300X's. I had never heard of these and just wondered if there was such a thing or if they could have been a 350X. Thanks everyone!

I think it sounds like your friend is confused. The US90 was more or less the first ATC in America which later became the ATC90 then the 1979 ATC110. He could have been talking about some of those oddball centrifugal clutch driven 4strokes that were around but surely he would have explained the difference to you.

See here for the Cliff's notes on the history of the Honda ATC/V: http://www.atving.com/editor/feature/atvhistory/hondahistory.htm

P.S. Where in Illinois are you? There are a couple of us Illinois Boys here now. :-D

Sounds like Pana or Shelbyville? I did alot of growing up in that area when i attended Eastern. I'm near Peoria, and theres another dude named Ben that's west of Peoria a little ways. Do you have a trike? We should get a ride planned together.

I've know where that is, been through there a couple times. Is there anywhere down in there to ride? Me and a couple buddies have Big Red's.

I know there is a track and some trails south of Effingham. I have never been there or talked to anyone that has. It is off south rt 45 almost the Effingham/Clay county line. I have been by the sign for it but I cannot remember the name.
