Tri Z Clutch boss and housing removal

Iam having a hard time removing the clutch boss and housing, while being careful not to damage it, are there any tips or tricks out there you guys could throw out. Thanks.

what problems are you having??? - check out bike bandit and use there parts finder to diss/and assemble if you dont have a book
theres a (grabb it tool made) to hold the gears and its not too much, or in books ppl use a coin between the gears,i dont like this because it could break the cases -possibly,a electric impact is good to use, some times air ones have too much torq, and could strip the threads out- it should come apart easily though

I figure you are talking about the big center nut in the center of the basket???If so usually a good 1/2 impact wrench will spin it loose. If not,you may want to contact Seadoo650 on here.He can sell you a tool designed to hold the clutch hub stationary while you break the nut loose by hand with a 1/2 inch breaker bar.The tool is fairly cheap compared to breaking a part.

No I got the center nut off easily by putting a pair of channel locks on the sproket and using an impact to take off the nut. The manual says the center of the clutch should just slide off but it seems to be on there pretty good and there is no way to a gear puller on there, especially without damaging it. I used a rubber mallet to try to loosen it up but no luck.

Wow,that looks like it welded itself on the shaft for some reason .I would guess that someone left the 2 thrust washers out behind the hub.You want to find out why it did that though,so it dont happen again.I have 2 ideas to try.
    1) use a automotive type harmonic balancer puller on the hub,and use some light heat from a handheld bernzomatic torch on the clutch hub center before you start pulling.use a hand held ratchet, not a impact!
    2) use a automotive slide hith a hub puller bolted on the end.
At this point,I think you will at least have to replace that center hub.
If nothing else you might have to get mid-evil on the thing and drill some holes in the center clutch hub around the splines,to relieve some pressure on it.Like I said though,You will have to replace that hub.I am sure the splines are torn up.Hopefully,it did not hurt the steel trans shaft.Good luck
