The 10.25:1 compression one, if you get the 12:1 then you would have to run race gas. As for size it depends on what type of shape your cylinder is in, don't go larger then you have too. Pull it apart and inspect before ordering, you might be able to just hone the cylinder or you may have to bore it.

it dosen't smoke or anything, but i might have to do the headgasket soon. i my as well put a new piston in it while i have it apart. thing is tho, when i did the piston in my yamaha it burned oil later. i'm just kinda nervous i guess

if its not burning oil now why mess with something thats not broke? also how do you know the head gasket needs to be replaced soon? Jim
i kno what you mean. anyways it seems to be leaking a bit of oil.

more compression=more power
will just putting a piston in it do that, or would i have to bore it out? i don't want to get to crazy.

If your trike isnt smoking and your compression is good then replacing the piston and rings is not necessary. You dont need to mess with it. Honestly if your going to tear it down to replace the gasket why just not go with a set of rings. Yes a 10:1 piston is going to produce a little more but I would bet you will not be able to tell one with a 10:1 and one with the stock compression ratio. I would tear it down replace the gasket do a very light hone on the cylinder replace the rings and not worry with the piston and save about 80 bucks.. good luck

If you are going to take the top end apart you might as well rebuild it. Start with having your cylinder miked from your local cycle mechanic to see what bore its on. Then rebuild your head with some new valve guide seals and lap your valves while you are at it. If you run Alky and a high compression piston I think you are supose to use stainless steel valves. I ran a 10.5:1 on my 350x and they work great. DO NOT put a forged piston in your cylinder with out having it bored to match. You need the clearence and forged pistons expand and could seaize your top end, shatter and blow your bottem. Lots of nasty stuff. Just a set of rings, and a hone to deglaze your top end with some new valve guide seals will give you a brand new bike.
