NEW garage PICS!! bottom of 1st page

Got my fill dirt delivered today for what is going to be the foundation for my 26 X 31 metal building. Of course, my daughter had to play on it, and I HAD to conquer it with the beater quad (Beer Tractor). I am truly a kid at heart

Actually, Billy, I had not had the first drop when that pic was taken. I wish I could blame my behavior on alcohol, but I think I am just nuts.

Yes, It sure is nice to enjoy 79 degree, sunny, clear weather at on Haloween. Gotta love Florida!!!!

You'd be suprised what you get when you pay for high dollar dirt.

Looks nice, it's a great feeling to finally have a place for storage and to work on things in.

    How thick is your pad??

I poured a pad with 3/8 stone mix about 5 years ago. Only 4 inches thick with wire mesh in it. I dug out all the earthy materials and bought a truck of reprocessed concrete and when I wet it down, it got hard as iron. 5 years later and no cracks. I also used a masonry blade the very next morning to groove it up before it got too hard.

Must be nice to not worry about frost!!

It is 4 inches thick in the center, with 12 inch footers around the perimeter. It has rebar in the footers, mesh in the center, and the concrete is fibercrete for additional strength. For florida code, I could build a 2 story building on there- that's how strong it is. They are finishing it now and the expansion lines are going to be cut in it on monday.

    hey wheelie king,
Did you set the bolts for your building? My bro-in-law and I built one, he had them send out the template and layout for the bolts on th emain beams before we poured the concrete.
    Just curious, Dave

Actually, I did check into that. I did not set the bolts for the building, and the company installing it said NOT to. THey anchor it with concrete anchors from the top, and this allows for more custom appications, etc. And just as strong.

You can never have a garage big enough. We have a 30x34, and it takes close to 30 minutes to re-arrange it so I can fit my truck inside.
[20:55] <waterpumper> putting a racing pipe on a Foreman is like putting a high dollar bikini on a 400 pound chick...just because it fits doesn't mean it looks cool

    The outside is DONE

Here is is so far, I am in the process of making the dividing wall on the inside for the 11 X 24 room in the back. I will have 20 X 24 in the front, and the room in the back-- air conditioned, storage loft above, etc. I love it!

The back room, you ask???? IT'S not like a card table, couches, a mini fridge, and TV are going to go in there or anything!!!!

    Whaddya think????????
