Ok heres the problem I just gave my son my 85 Big Red and we went out riding after dark and the light do not stay on at a idle but with a little gas they come back on,never had this problem before also there is no battery in this machine but never affected before. I thinking the stator may be going bad. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

mine did that with a loose battery connection. stick a good battery in it and I'll bet it clears up the problem.
