    No Rear Fender? (200X)

Hey I was wondering if anyone had a pic or pics of an early X running just a seat without any rear fender if that is even posible. Mine isnt together right now so I am not sure on what all the mounts look like and I dont have a early X seat for it yet. I was wondering because I have seen people chop fenders right in to the seat so I was wondering if there was even a need for the fender at all and I think it looks pretty good on some ATC's and ATV's I have seen. Thanks!

Well on my X i know you do need the fender there.....b/c that is what holds it up, if you dont have them then it will bow and crush your airbox lid.

Alright that is what I really needed to know. Do you think it would be possible to fab a piece to hold it or easier just to go down the other route and cut the fenders and make them about an inch away from the seat on each side? I know I saw a pic of one somewhere with the close cut fenders but I wanted to see it again to tell if I would like to do it to mine or not. Thanks for the help so far!

it wouldnt be hard to make a piece to hold it up. all you need is somthing to brace it.

here is a pic of what the cut off fenders look like on a shee, it should give you some sort of an idea.

Thanks for the pic. I think the cut offs do make it look racier and that would help set my X apart from the others. Mine is going to be finished as a total custom since there arent too many done up 200X's it seems and the more I come to 3WW the worst it gets! Thanks again!

im not one to cut the fenders off... just because if you have had your feet slip off of the pegs enouph times and then get run over by your own machine you know its not a plesent experience... the fenders will help you a bit from not having this happen..to each his own but id say keep the fenders on there if you have them....to me some machines can pull it off and look good but most machines that i have seen with the rear fenders hacked off look like crap to me....
