    250sx shooting flame after shutoff

After a fairly hard ride, the 250SX will 'pop' after I shut it off. I just noticed its actually shooting out a flame! What would cause this? I was thinking heated carbon buildup on the piston igniting fuel after shutoff, but you guys know more about trikes so....

My Big Bear does the same thing, has since I have had it. Does it any time that you start it and kill it though. Yamaha shop here said that it could take up to a grand in labour and then whatever the parts cost to diagnose and fix. I said thanx, I can live with it.

There are no stupid questions, but there are alot of stupid people out there that ask questions.

None of us are capable of screwing things up as bad as a group of us.

When you shut down, Spark is killed instantly , but your motor still makes an additional two or three spins. with no spark to light the gas on those extra turns, it gets spit into the exhaust, where it ignites from heat. Kinda Normal, but if it bugs you, shut the bike off in gear. That will eliminate the extra "SPINS" and the ensuing "BACKFIRE" ---------TRY -IT!
Buy American! Unless your only option is a HARLEY.

A customer walked in to my shop and Impatiently stated "My car doesnt start, Whats the problem?"I responded with a smile-"Yep that sounds like your problem alright"----
