Big Red 250ES new owner... Some questions

Hey guys, yep... I'm a newbie...

I just bought an 85 250es for $300. It needs some TLC, but seems to run and ride pretty good. I'm kick starting it right now, because it has no battery in it, but I've gotta get the electric start working.

    Here's my questions:

With no battery in the trike when I push the starter button while it's running, should the starter engage??? It doesn't. With the bike running nothing happens when the button is pushed.

The Neutral and Reverse indicator lights do not light up ever. Where do these wires go, and how hard is it to fix this???

Will a seat off a 200es fit a 250es??? Is there another model of trike that has the same seat as a 250es?

What's top speed on a 250es? I'm not a racer, but a trail rider. I just want to know if it will hang with my Polaris Magnum 425 quad.

    Thanks guys!!!!

You have a great trike, just like mine
No the starter won't work without the battery. Do a search on this forum for "manuals" and you will find a .pdf manual for the 250es. Just download it.
I don't think those other seats will fit.

To the boards as to some of your questions the top speed of your Big Red is about 45mph give or take a few mph at wide open throttle and I don't believe that a 200es seat will fit on there. The starter should not engage while running and the wires for the lights are down under the motor by your brake pedel but I don't think that the problem, because if that was it wouldn't start so check your bulbs
