paid 600 for it total piece of crap. put about 1500 into it making it nice.

then spend about 2 to 500 bucks a year in up keep from tearing it up and buying it gifts. and hop up goodies . tires and what not . bent bars and rims , seat cover .you name it, filters . clutch basket, carbs, clutches , cables, controls several times. pipes, i crash allot also and ride it hard in some nasty stuff . deep mudy swamps. i run it till steam shoots out of the radiator shut it off and hit it again when cool. i love that bike.

now it is on it's second build up rite now . about a grand to make her prety again.

thought it would take 2 weeks looks more like a month.

The ATC200 I got for free, spent 30$ in bearing/seals and 70$ on the chain/sprockets and 50$ on a new headlight, so about 150$ in it. But its out of commission for now due to a bad clunk coming from the tranny area.

The Big Red i paid 100$ for, 30$ for bearing/seals, 130$ for sprockets/chain (last NOS front sprocket in the shop, 70$!!!! ), and 10$ for a new solenoid. So i think i got about 340$ in it. Not bad for a running motor and *perfect* plastic. Still gotta switch everything over to the new frame, so there will be powdercoating, and various new parts, so theres gonna be at least another 2-300$.

The 185x got absolutely NO MONEY in it at all. (Hoping to keep it that way lol) Guy gave it to me, could use new bearings in the rear eventually but still lots of life for now, and the stator needs drying out again, and needs an exhaust stud (anyone know where to buy replacements for these) but mostly its a great trike. Has new tires in the back, original seat cover (one small hole -- not noticeable), and either a 200x or 250r front end w/ GOLD rim and hub, and when i get around to it its gonna have a big red tank.

Altogether i guess i got about 500$ in all 3 trikes. That figures gonna shoot waaaay up if i get my 250r, needs everything like both R and L engine cases. (idk how they cracked the right one ) but it will be worth it.

my 85 200X I bought for $200, new clutch, springs, cable, air filter, front tire $175. New rear plastic, $135. gallon of slime $25 at walmart. So I got a great running 200X for about $535.
the 250R was $150 for the trike, $220 for the bore and piston kit, So $370 for a great running 84 250R, unfortunately the tranny has no 2nd gear.

1986 250R: I paid $1000 for it in outstanding condition back around 1989 from the original owner. Having owned it for so long I really have no idea how much money is into it now. If I were to guess from that day to now I'd say I have about $3500 into it. Not bad at all considering how long I've owned it.

1986 Tri-Z: Paid $700 for it a couple summers ago. Didn't want to run so I threw a 250r carb I already had on it and rebuilt the fuel pump for five bucks. Now it runs pretty solid. Some Aussiduner plastics. A crapload of wet sanding. A billet waterpump impeller from Ronnie. SS bolt kit. Probably around $850 so far. Still needs: new chain and sprockets, front tire, fork seals.

1986 350x: Paid $500 on ebay in supposedly non-running condition. Threw the rocker cover back on and it fired up. Has all new plastics on it now other than the headlight. Traded some graphic design work for those so no out of pocket expense there. Haven't spent a penny other than the purchase price on it yet. Still needs: fork seals, chain and sprockets, new rings and valve guides, bearings, run/light switch.

1983 200x: Got it from the classifieds here for $145. You wouldn't know by looking at it but I've been collecting a lot of parts for it since then. Used rear shock, wiring harness, airbox/boot/filter, front 250r fender, maier super scoops, aussieduner number plate, restored gas tank, rear brake components, SS bolt kit, SS swinger bolt and lots more I'm probably forgetting. No idea what I have into it at this point but I know it isn't much. Got good deals on everything so far or made trades for it. Most expensive item was the restored gas tank which was a hundred bucks shipped. Still needs: chain and sprockets, fork seals, top end rebuild, 84-85 style swingarm, bearings, rear fenders, run/light switch.

bought 2 250SX's for 1200, sold one for 850, kept the other and havent put a dime into it other than gas.

Enough to buy serveral new 450rs I'm sure. My mother and father remind me of this constantly..."You could have bought a couple new 4 wheelers with all you've spent on the threewheelers."

In the machines I have right now, lemme think..850, 700, 4500, 1400, 1000 and we'll add in an additional 1200 for spare parts I have everywhere, so, I'd say I have about 9650 conservativley in the current fleet.

Now if we include all the trikes I've ever owned well that puts it well over 12000 easy.

course this is over about a 7 year period. I road my handmedown kawasaki KE100 for a long time before that fateful day I was given a Yamaha YT125.
And that's the rest of the story. ~ Paul Harvey

Well I bought my 350X for $850 and I just dumped $523.96 on ebay plus $160 to a member here plus $50 at the local Honda dealer on it already. The bad thing is I only have it about 3 weeks now. I guess I got a POS of an X. But

    I bought a headlight assembly,headlight/kill switch,rear rotor,rear caliper,service manual,chain cover, case saver,kick start lever,foot pegs and a lonestar carrier.

I am planning on new chain and sprockets, rear wheels and tires, extended swinger,hi-flite seat, tail light, clarke or IMS tank, shift lever, front brake lever, front rotor, fork seals and boots, steering stem bearings, and some other things.
So I guess I'll be in for ALOT.
