Might Be Buying a 350X..Advice Please

I might be buying a 1985 350X. I just talked to the guy and he said the motor has been rebuilt top to bottom. Plastics are in good shape, tank, etc. He's asking $1200. He's going to email me some pics of it this evening and I would like you fellas with these trikes or former owners to help me out on what to look for.
What should compression be? Iif I go look at it I will bring my guage. Suspension, etc.
The guy sounded kind of young, maybe late teens or early 20's if you think that matters.
    I appreciate the help.

look over the frame 350x's are known to crack
check for chain damage on the case by the front sprocket (most are broke)

Really there are not a lot of flaws in the 350x just check the frame out real good and check out the cover for chain damage but that area of the cover is double walled and doesn't really hurt anything being cracked / broke. Besides that just your normal stuff like brake systems and suspension, lights, bearings ect....

yeah on the frame there is a pipe (on the right it is right by the top of the kick starter) right where that pipe welds onto the mainframe they are known to crack and under the seat right where the latch is.

More common crack location is on the left side just under the rear fender. These are pics of mine. I know several others that have had the same crack in almost exactly the same place. Other than that, like others have said, look for general mechanical issues. Good luck
