1984 honda cr80 smoking with new rings

Ok I have a cr80 that was smoking and blowing oil. Oil was actually dripping out of exhaust pipe. So i had it bored out and a new piston and rings and it is still smoking and dripping oil. Anybody have any ideas?

run it 40:1 32:1 is just to rich and you'll go thru plugs. anyway if you didnt repack you silencer you should do that about every year to avoide oil flying out.

2 strokes are suposed to smoke.... and the dripping out of the silencer and at the jug is normal over time...... that is all normal....no reason to rebuild it.... lol
looking for a TRI-Z 250 to restore at the moment

    change the silencer packing,
use good oil,i use klotz 40:1 great oil--it burns clean
the oil isnt burning, either too much,or crappy oil, possible too much back pressure
if its a new top end the oil still is in the silencer packing ,and could be holding in too much back pressure, and it is still in the pipe, it will take time to burn all of it out
be carefull not to go too lean because of this!!, oil cakes inside the pipe and silencer

Repack the silencer and go a little learner with the mixture. If it persists you will have to rejet.

    Hi,

I know it's a bit too late but if you haven't figure it out yet you should try to check your OILSEAL in the crankcase as well as the water pump seal

I have a 2001 honda cr80 and I had the same problem I changed everything possible but I never checked the oil seals.

When i check my Oilseal it was not even in place WTF ! Maybe too much pressure in it or too old

    Cya
