85 Tecate what size axle nut?

I need to replace the axle nuts on my Tecate. I looked at them for the first time today when I changed tires and neither one of them is acceptable. I think one of them is an american size nut(sloppy loose on the threads) and one is a little thin thing, but it fits on the threads well.

I measured it with my old plastic calipers and think it is 18mm.

Tecate riders, is that about right? What is the thread pitch too?

    Thanks, Chris

Your talking about the nuts that hold on the hubs? I hear talk that 350X axle nuts fit. Blazerone did it months ago.

Yep, hold the hubs on. 350X huh? Okay, what size fits a 350X? Not wanting to sound like a smart--s, I have an automotive background and I'm used to calling things by their size, not what bike it fits. Seems I have allot to learn here in trikeland!

No, I couldn't tell you what size exactly. Durablue makes axle nuts for the 350X.

I should have thoght about it sooner, but the Kawasaki parts diagram online says it is 18mm, which I hope is 18x1.5 because I ordered some from Durablue. Thanks guys.

Have you mounted your 22inch mud tires? Any fresh pics?

I mounted them this weekend but didn't take pics. I also hooked-up a light switch I bought off ebay and an LED taillight. The LEDs on the tail look cool, I mounted them out back at the end of my PRM six-pack rack. I also made a bracket to mount a headlight using the radiator guard. My state requires working headlights and taillights to get it titled and registered. I need it titled and registered before I can ride on public land.

It's getting there. I'll post some pics up when I can, I didn't take any just yet. Chris

Highlifter makes a nice ATV handlebar mounted light kit. I want to use Daystar lights mounted on some TAG handlebar clamps I have. The mounts are seperate so I can use them to mount one light per each side of the handlebars.
