hey, contact your state motor vehicle dept for that info. did your neighbor have a title? if so he may be able to get a replacement, which is easier.
one cylinder is not enough!!
The dmv might tell you to get a salvage title, they should be able to help you with doing what you need.

My brother went through a title service and got a title for his project bike. It cost him about $150 I think, if you need some more info I can ask him.

There is several title company's that will do it for you. when i was titling my GT750 i spent a little over a $100 and got a title in about 2 months. i cant remeber the name of the company but i found them on the web. The best of what i understood was that they went to a state that didnt require titles on bikes that old and got it transfered to my state of Texas. Too me that didnt make any sense but i have a legit title now and never experienced any problems.
