    My 85' ATC250R......first trike.

Just picked this up this morning. It's an 85' ATC250R--Paul Turner HighRev pipe, PJ flatslide, +4 Durablue axle, +2 (chopped and welded) swinger. Haven't gotten my compression tester on it yet but seems to run strong. Needs some TLC and a few smallish things but it should be a runner. Feels and sounds healthy, decent shape overall.

I got it to compliment my 95' CR250R for dune riding (the 400EX went by-by a few weeks ago). A YFZ is what I really want, but that will have to wait for another season (or two).

I just unloaded it out of my truck in these pictures, so I haven't touched it yet....I'm excited so I thought I'd share!

Someone speak up if the pics are too big--I can resize them.

Wow, that is a really nice bike for a first one. You know... with just a little bit of work, this thing can smoke a yzf 450, if not already now

Either way, sweet find, and sweet bike.

Nice trike! Oh and just in case you didn't know the grab bar can be flipped back right side up with a few turns of a wrench but while you are at it I think a PRM grabber would set that trike off!

Get that thing out to the dunes and hit the drags. You'll be surprised how well they hold their own against all the new four stroke quads.

Where are you in AZ? There's probably going to be a small group of us going to the dunes for Thanksgiving weekend. You're welcome to show up. Not 100% sure where just yet but I'm betting it will be Gordons Well.

Thanks for the kind words! I can't wait to get this thing sorted and out in the sand. Just put my compression tester on it and it's pumping about 205+psi cold at ~1300ft. Shaved head??? What's normal on these? My CR pumps about 180psi on the same guage/conditions. When I ran it around the block I didn't pick up and audible deto but I also wasn't putting it under much load. I don't know what fuel is in the tank either--but the guy I bought it from sure didn't seem like the race-gas type.

Flipping the grab bar was the first thing I did! Looked funny like that--and yes, I'm in the market for a PRM grabber. Do the TRX or other models fit?? If anyone's got one and needs a 400EX front bumber I've got a PRM for the EX if anyone wants to work out a trade.

I'm in Chandler. Not sure about my plans for Thanksgiving, but I might be able to go. It doesn't take much to get me out there....especially when I've got something new to play with.

You can try running AV gas in it. $3.90 per gallon instead of $6.95 for race gas. With 205 psi compression, pump gas ain't gonna cut it at the dunes.

I hear ya. My EX pumped 175psi and required a minimum 50/50 mix of VP-110 and pump or it knocked all over the place. I know that's kind of an apples to oranges comparison but I've learned that The Dunes are a tailor-made conditions for detonation. Seems like the junk boutique fuel we get around here is particularly poor.

thats an awesome R! the 86-87 trx grab bars will fit but you have to have some kind of spacer in there i believe.
