    Unhappy ATC110 Plug / Head ???????????

    Hi guys

Bought a P.O.S 110 a few months back. Stripped down, loads spent and so on.

Anyway just picked up last batch of bits after getting the engine back together and to my horror I am sat here looking at a spark plug that I am sure is the wrong size for the head (the trike is actually about 200 miles away at the moment). I am 99.999% sure that the plug fitted is a 14mm thread and the new D8HA is a 12mm thread. I recall when pulling the motor apart thinking it was a bit odd having a 'standard' size plug

    Q. were any of the laydown honda motors fitted with this size of plug - C90 etc............

Will be seeing the trike next weekend - I hope I am wrong

well hmmm.... maybe someone stripped the threads out and just tapped it out to a 14 and put a different plug in it, and perhaps washers to space it out if it went in too deep..... just a thought...

I think you may be right tyman - the threads aint too good anyway.

I can either try to find the right grade plug with a 14mm thread or (preferably) another head...... bits are a bit scarce over here in the UK.

or you could find someone who can fill the hole for ya and then retap it right.. (thats what i did to mine... i put too long of a plug in it and didn't notice, pulled it and the piston jammed the sparkplug..... took it to a local junkyard mechanic and he welded up the hole and retapped it for me for about 25 bucks.. then i had to buy a new piston and rings.... i guess we all make mistakes

hey, don't get exited until you see it. 14mm plugs are better anyway, don't foul as easy. kawasaki and yamaha both use 14mm, and don't strip as easy. If I strip the plug hole on a honda, I just retap to 14mm. they are same number/ heat range different thread. ND X24esu/W24esu.
    one cylinder is not enough!!
