Tecate Rear Brake and Forks Questions

First of all I'm looking to figure out what brake caliper I have. It said Tecate on the ebay auction but the mounting points were closer together then the original. Also the pad that is layed in the house shaped hole is a different size.

The rear mounting holes are originaly 75mm outside to outside. Mine are 52mm outside to outside.

The original small pad of the rear brake is 50mm wide and mine is 42mm wide.

    I'm thinking I have a 88 T4 rear caliper.

Also, looking for some reassurance of fork diameter of the 85 T3, I'm getting 36mm?

Let me know about the rear brakes. The 84 had drum brake front vs the 85 that has a disc and fork wipers instead of boots.

The 84 & 85 rear brakes are the same, they are smaller then the 85 front brake. The 86 rear brake is the same size as the 85 & 86 front brakes. The 88 rear brake looks like it is the same size as the 86 rear brake .The only difference would be the location of the mounting holes. If you can, take the 84 & 85 rear brakes and throw them away .I have several of them and they are all bent out on the outboard pad side, replace them with 85 front brakes, works better all the way around. The 85 front brakes need a little fitting to work. The 85 & 84 front shocks are 36 mm like you said.

Well I changed the mounting holes of the 85 carrier to fit the brake caliper I have. Not a big deal to change back but I'd like to find out what I have. May start looking for the 85 front caliper.

Not pics. Measure the rear mounting bolt holes on the carrier outside to outside of the holes if you can please.

Your the man John! I have an 84 rear brake caliper. The 84 caliper does not fit the 85 carrier mounting holes.

John, have you made any head way with your T3?

Moose, did your new tires arrive yet? Pics when they do?
