Time to rebuild my 86 200x shock... little help??

I bought this bike, an 86 200x, of the original owner a few years ago and I'm positive he never had the shock redone, so it is way past due as the bike sags a good couple inches in the rear. So what is the best way to go guys? I've rebuilt my share of bike forks, etc... never tackled a shock. Is it possible to do yourself or best to find a specialist? Any ideas would be great. thanks guys.
