    Different Cams in 110's?

So ive seen different aftermarket cams on like dennis kirk and other places for my 110 and am curious if it is worth throwing one in or not when i get around to rebuilding the engine?

What do you guys think? Anyone used one before?

Yes, a cam in a 110 is a nice little bonus. Make sure you have a better exhaust and you install larger jets. Depending on how big you go, you would seriously want to go with a larger carb as the 110 carb becomes restrictive if you start building any serious power. Make sure you have a nice, relatively new cam chain as you will be suprised how much strain the extra power puts on an old cam chain. You will really notice the difference with cam, exhaust and carb mods. Have fun.

Yeah here is the setup that i am thinking about

    Complete Top End

    Cobra Exhaust
either this or a bassani from another member

    Cam Chain
There is two different options how do i know which one i need or what is the difference?

    Camshafts
Dont know which one would be best to go with in this case since i will have a complete exhaust system and am willing to rejet.

I've completely torn down and been through the top end, split the cases, through the trans, everything on my 2 stroke ktm but have never ventured into a little 4 stroke yet, how big of a project am i really getting myself into with installing this new cam and stuff and will there be any special tools or whatever that i will need?

A honda manual for your bike for sure. If you run into anything you can't do, you might check with your local bike shop for help. A puller for your stator and the 4 prong clutch nut socket you will difinitely need. A good gasket kit, a nice torque wrench in inch pounds and one in foot pounds. A good sealant like yamabond4 for the engine case halves. And alot of patience.

The heavier duty cam chain is nice and it's easier to go with a milder cam than a wilder cam. Wild cams can be tricky little devils. A cam with better than stock specs will make quite a difference. Don't go with a real big cam unless your going with alot bigger carb and for that you would need an aftermarket intake, which are hard to find. Good luck

Here's a link to where you can download a 70-125 manual for free, not super detailed, but it's free and helps. http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/...howtopic=92462

I've got one of those CD's off of ebay with the service manauls and other crap on it.

I've got a older chilton manaul that i bought probably 2 years ago that was GREAT....But i dont know what the hell i have done with it. I've looked everywhere and i have a bad feeling i mistaked it for the chilton manaul for my old blazer and gave it away with it!-

So cam wise would it be better to go with the 55-031 or the 55-051? Then i will pick up a heavy duty cam chain.

I shouldnt have to pull into the bottom end with this one, or do i have to split the cases to install the cam/new chain? All this thing really needs that i know of is a new top end.

Rennat, if I were you, I'd be going with the 031, because I prefer a broader power band (the point of having a four stroke for me), but if you're going to be riding mid to top end more you may benefit from the 051 being focused more toward that area of the spread. I plan on buying an 0-31 for my 90 engine eventually.

Yeah you know after thinking about it that would probably be the best way to go. Get the little extra uumph right off of the bottom to get it moving and it can handle itself fine from there.

you can use a cam from A Honda S90 , I found mine on Ebay. I also found an S90 race cam w/ needle bearing in place of the standard journal . Try to find a PK intake it uses a shorter intake runner but it is also larger diameter. I've taken stock intakes cut and resectioned them to move the carb out. 20mm Mikunis are a nice upgrade w/ cam and pipe.
Methanol, the nectar of the gods!
