atc 70 whats the best year?

I am going to start an atc 70 project when my 350x is done and I am wandering what year(s) to look for. I do not have one yet, I had a trx 70 (86) and loved it but I was wandering what year atc 70 would be the best. This trike will be for me to toy around with, (no kids yet) mostly just to ride around pit areas and let my nefew drive. I do not care if its a vintage one or not, just looking for the easiest one to find parts for. Thanks

78-85 is the most common with the 83-85 as a 4 speed and the 85 are a 4 spd but an up shift pattern and the rest all down. 73-74 models are difficult to find parts for but are neat to have.

For you to ride I would go with a 4spd.
82-85 are 4spd
82-82 downshift
