What do you guys do with your old frames?

haha I am curious because I have like probally 5 frames that are not really good enough for a restore job and I see frames arent really worth that much so they really wouldent be worth my time selling so what do you all do with them? Currently I am thinking of just piling them under a dirt ramp so I can jump em with my R whenever it gets running but I am not sure... lol This should make for a good topic, any ideas are welcome.

Seriously, save them for guys like Jason Hall, Billy, any of us crazies who regularly cut stuff up in the persuit of building something cool. What kinda frame to you need to unload> I have plenty of storage space, I can take them off your hands and redistribute them for free.

depends if there is paperwork that goes with the frame. If there is paper, the bare frame is valuable. If there is not paperwork, then the frame is scrap for anyone that wants it.

Don't ruin perfectly good frames, that's not very smart thinking to do so.

While my idea will not make sense for someone restoring one right down to 100% perfection as in having frame serial #'s match on the original "title", for most of us, it does make sense.

When your repainting a frame and like said, don't give a hoot about the serial # match, why not paint the spare up before you even start tearing your trike down, then you can start putting it somewhat back together almost immeadiatly?? Right away (well once cleaned) you can install the motor, carb, air box, brake pedal, swingarm, possibly the triple clamps, whole front end......... etc, etc.

I have a 87 125M (just got, 2 bucks) and Yamaha 225 frame and plan to do just that.

That's crazy to scrap any ATC part unless it is total junk.

If most don't think so though, well then I'm going to keep a closer eye out for free or cheap frames, in my area that is. I would not go as far as to have one shipped but even if it's a bit of a drive, I might still take it.

I guess if you don't have the room and did make an effort to give it a way and just can't find anyone that wants one, then I understand to scrap it but to immeadiatly think SCRAP with out trying to help someone else out, naaaah, that's not my way of thinking at all.

ATCR 250R .......Are yours bent or rusted out that they are not up to snuff to repaint and use? What model frames are they?

Save Em for me, I use the bent or rusted frames when modifying stuff. If you don't have any use for them, then bring them to trikfest & give Em to us crazies. I need a good 350x frame to put my Honda NX 250 engine In. It wont fit In my 200x like I wanted, the carb Is to high & It wont clear the frame.
