    Question why wont it start?

i have a 79 110 and its getting fuel and good spark but wont fire tried 3 diffrent carbs and nothing? i checked the timing and i think its good. i put the flywheel on the t and put the dot on the sprocket on the line and still nothing? does anyone have a pic of a 79 or 80 110 flywheel? i think mine is new or aftermarket cause it looks fairly new it also has 3 lines havent tried any of those yet. what is the o (i think) for? what would the 3rd non marked line be for? it ran before i touched it and put new rings in it should i check for compression? it seems to have it when i pull it over?

Have you checked the air filter? Is the carb flooding? When was the last time it was running?

Try a new spark plug. That has saved me sometimes from chasing other possible issues.

How about the kill switch? I had to replace mine and off is on /on is off. Someone must have been drunk at the switch factory that day.

Both wrong, read his post he said he gets great spark, he cant get good spark with a bad plug, he cant get good sprak with a bad on/off switch. Im guessing since you said it worked *Edited**Edited* u took it apart its your timing. ALSO try to put some fuel into the cylender threw the plug hole and see if it even fires, if it does check for air leak, if not check your timing. Did you take the whole engine apart?

I've had spark before, but not enough to fire it up. A new spark plug is a simple thing to try. And, he said he already checked the timing.

Well if you aren't running it with an air box and filter I would at least try it with one on.

heres some pic of what i have. i read somewhere that the points are suppost to get a gap when it reaches the "o" but mine doesnt have a "o" they start to gap before they get to the t though is that right? it seems to have good compression i dont have a guage but i put my finger over it and felt pressure didnt blow my finger off though but it has more than another 110 motor i have laying around so look at the pic and let me know it also has a new ngk plug in it and it is a big bright spark

pull the spark plug and stick a screwdriver in the hole to see if the pistons all the way up with the timing marks set.
