not sure, if it were me, i'd do away with it and go to premix. that way you know your safe.

Easiest way is to add a straw to the pickup line from the oil tank. The thinner the straw the better. Fill the straw with premix and mark it with a marker. Then start the engine and run for a while and see if the premix in the straw is dropping. If it is, then the pump is working, if not then you'd better premix the gas. I'd also recommend premixing the gas for this test as you can sieze your motor if the pump isn't working. By premixing the gas also, you risk a spark plug fouling out by doubling up on the premix.
