    best engine paint

Is there a good medium gloss engine paint that won't burn off fade or peel? The paint is pretty good on my 200x that I just got but before I put the engine back in I want to put some fresh paint on it and get it looking like new again. Thanks in advance.

So you're saying some duplicolor engine paint will more then likely look worse in the long run then what the engine looks now?

if you use walmart paint dont get gas, oil, carb cleaner, octane booster, brake fluid, or anything along thos lines because it will peel right off,,, PJ1 is a epoxy paint impervious to thoes,,,

I use duplicolor engine paint in black semi gloss ford engine paint. It goes on smooth as with a gun ,holds up good and dries fast. The semi gloss looks close to factory to me.Walmart only has the flat and the gloss so,I get the semi gloss at either napa or advance. The duplicolor is engine paint so its oil and gas resistant. If you want epoxy paint at walmart you could try the appliance paint but Im not sure if it comes in anything besides white or tan.

I use the engine enamale from auto part stores, after I fully clean and prep the motors, I love the new shinny aluminum and how it turns out, and its durable as well, You can run it but it will dry out even and very glossy, it may not be OEM look but I like my stuff better any way, and its only about 5 beans a can, I use one can for 2 motors and some other parts

Thats usually when you put laquer over enamel when you get the crinkle.

I agree with sykolincoln about the shiny aluminum duplicolor. Its great for wheels to and it will cover almost anything in one coat as long as its clean. I put the purple power to my engines, to clean before paint.

I have order PJ1 from Summit Racing Equipment. The manufacture gave me the info as I could not find what I wanted at any local parts strores where I live in NE Mich.
