1upfront,, its one of two husqavarna's ever built. they were R&D prototypes. designed and built for factory husky, by bob and tracey dickson. too bad husky never produced them. they were way ahead of their time. im proud to have been so lucky to have raced one.

Normally there are good stories to be had from how your racing number was chosen. Whats you story Brett?

all the top pro riders had an understanding that once they picked a # , no others would run that #. it was out of respect. 34 sundahl, 31 white, 33 driscoll, 22 wright, etc... most of the taken #s were 20s 30s 40s.. it just seemed to work out that way.. sometimes we were required to run three digit #s, and i ran 333, others would do something simular, like 222 or 311 etc...ever since the 3wheeler days 33 has been my favorite #. the # pops up in everyday life all the time, almost like its fate..

Hey all, I've been away for a while and I've been readin' up on this thread. I have known Brett Driscoll for a long time. We teamed up for the 1987 Baja 1000 racing for Team Yamaha on a pre-production Yamaha Banshee. The Banshees finished 1-2. and the race was a success even though we did have some mishaps. Yea I crashed........ I understand I was quite the comedy for a while.

I just wanted to address the red duct tape question on the wheels that were on my 3 wheeler in a previous post. That photo was from the Frontier 500. The Frontier was a race that started in Las Vegas and ended in Reno. Team Honda ATC entered and won the event 3 years in a row. i was lucky enough to be on the winning team all 3 years along with Marty Hart and Waxeldorfer.

Just for a little background on the Frontier. It was a BRUTAL race. It took us longer to race 500 miles in the Nevada desert than it did to finish a Baja 1000!
Many many standing miles and LOTS of silt. The Nevada desert makes Baja seem like a freeway.

The tape was infact to cover lead wheel weights used to balance the wheels. We could approach 90 MPH on the longs stretch's of desert and balancing helped A LOT to keep the vibes down. The tires would stretch out so far and get so thin they would mimick the rear wheels of TF drag racers at top speed!

Of course the duct tape also allowed for numerous information postings.........

    Mike

P.S. Hey Brett. I need to refresh your memory a bit. That Parker 400 race that you and Dean Sundahl won? As I recall, you guys were 2nd overall 3 wheeler. Some guy named Curtis Sparks and his partner were 1st overall on an open class Honda...........

    Brett,

Brett, thanks for the props... You and Craig were/are very fast too. I just read where you raced a D38 event recently and finished near the front!! Not bad old man! I have been riding too. Mainly single track trails up in the mountains on a modified CRF230F. No plans for competition.

Have you seen Dean Sundahl lately? I have heard so many different stories I don't know which ones to believe. Hey Dean Kirsten, have you seen or heard from Sundahl? I hear he still races out in D38 from time to time.

Brett, I do not recall tangling with you at 117. When did that happen? What event? I remember racing the Husky at the San Felipe 250? Too bad it had a little glitch. I think we could have won that event.

Next time I'min El Centro I'll make it to your store. Now that I can get in contact with you I will inform you of when I'll be headed that way.

    Mike
