Its amazing at how all the racing trikes all were different. Not like dirt bikes which look very simalar to the others, no matter where or who built them. Tricky Dicky's Trike had no water pump, but liquid cooled. To yamaha'stank under the seat. Some technology was suppior but alot of that was $$$$. That and I have seen a few honda atc 250r's break right in 2.lol

the tri-z was the best speedway and flat track trike. the motors were very fast. but the suspension sucked. i liked racing speedway in hemet ca. on wed. nights. if i remeber right, donnie luce, jimmy white and a few other top pro's raced there. it was good practice and stiff competition, especially for a week night.

Brett - its nice to see you still checking in.

Did you ever race the east coast nationals in Labanon Valley, NY?

It was mostly a TT track with a nice size double jump and small high speed jumps. 85 and 86 they had the 3 wheeler nationals event held there. Ronnies cycles (and catalog now) did a lot to support the race scene out there and help give a large kawasaki and yamaha presence. I know Jimmy White was going to be there in 84- but didn't show for some reason. Just wondering?

Believe it or not, i raced my little yt125 when i was 11 during the 1984 season - at the valley every wed night. Crashed bad one night fighting for position and ended my racing early - clipped the rear tires with another and flipped end over end - blacked out and everything. It was a wierd class cause i had to race the adults with kawi 165s. Got 3rd in points that year though.

Let me know if you get a kick out of this picture. Paper plate and all. But that was the track.

raffa, we dropped the forks and i think we used a link in the back. i lowered the air in the inside tire. and it was ready to race. and never, never, never hit the brakes.
