Can trikes be registered and insured in NY?

Just a quick question about registering and insuring 3 wheelers in NY. I have friends that have 4 wheelers and they are planning on weekend rides that take them on state land. I understand that wheelers have to be insured and registered to ride and I need to know if I can register and insure my wheeler to join them? any help is aapreciated

yes you can! you need proof of ownership, bill of sale, old regastration if has been allready,
or if you have none of these and has never been registered you need to complete a STATEMENT OF OWNERSHIP (MV-51B) to register you will need that and a BILL OF SALE

AS for insurance your on you own on that as my 85 is not insured
    Good Luck..

dont know, first you have to find someone that will insure it, that you will have to check around.

Here's a little info on registatration too. Have the previous owner fill out some paper work, just a couple of signatures and address info., thats all. I forget what forms they were, but when I did mine, someone on here told me which ones they were and then I went to the NY DMV website and printed them off the website.
VERY IMPORTANT: call the area cops and have them come to your house to run the VIN numbers on your trike. If they clear, they will give you a slip that says that the VIN numbers have been cleared by the police. That looks really good to the DMV and you should have no problems after that, as long as it was never reported stolen.
