I bought a clark gas tank for my 85 350x. I can't get the fuel screen in the tank. The hole is to small, is this a common problem and what should I do.

I remember having to drill somthing on my Clarke tank. Is the plastic or that metal piece too small?

It's the plastic. I am afraid to drill it out and make it bigger. If I go to big it could start to leak.
