    will 86-87 200x fenders fit an 83-85

I've got an 84 200x and the plastic is fairly good but at some point I want to replace it. I love how the white 86-87 fenders look but my dad says they won't fit. There can't be that much different and if I go with Maier fenders its drill your own holes mounting so I don't see how it would be that hard to make it work. Does anyone know?

They don't inner change. You should be able to get 84 200x fenders in white from Maier.

I know Maier has them in white for the 83-85 but I don't like the looks of the fenders. The 86-87 has a lot more aggressive look to them in the way they are shaped. I don't like how the 83-85 back fenders are flat across the back, its ok but kind of boring and not the best looking thing ever. I guess I need to find someone with an 86 and get some measurements.

I just don't see what is so different that they won't fit.

here's a few pics.... the first is the best place i could get it....the 2nd is with the seat pegs lined up....
you could cut the fender where it hits the tank but would have to cut a good 2" ....... you could maybe change the tank for 86/87 with some mods....
seems like alot of hassle to me

and, correct me if i'm wrong, maier fenders don't have an indent for the kick starter.. so they would probably look good if you cut them since you wouldn't be cutting through the indent...

Looks to me like the seat is shorter and doesn't fit to the tank as good more then the fenders being too short.

Do whatever you want but anyway you slice it, it's not gonna look right on an 85 ATC. If you want the 86 look, get an 86.
