    250r shock or shock rebuild?

Hey guys how much does it cost to get a shock rebuilt? I want to tear one of mine apart and powdercoat the spring and clean it up to "like new" condition for my 85 R project. Maybe i'd be better off buying a shock. what brands of shocks are good and also reasonable? works? does eibach make any?

I get mine done for $60, the more you send the cheaper it gets with the guy that does mine. New rubber bump stops are $20 extra for the oem style. I've got 3 or 4 ready to go to him right now.

I just had Works do mine this fall. They had to put a cartridge in, which is basically replacing all the inards including the shaft and lower clevis. The shaft they use is larger at 5/8". This also includes custom valving for your weight and riding style. It cost about $350 w/shipping which is still cheaper than any other aftermarket shock. Oh and the spring powder coating was $25.
