High temp silicone works good also, I used it on my 1985 ktm 125 and will probably do the same on my 1991 ktm 540 when i get it going.

Most guys use high temp RTV silicone, the orange goop. Works good for a few months then reapply. Or at least in my case, but also I put alota hours on my machines.

RTV orange is a better way to go than the exhaust tape. I have tried both and the RTV worked longer than the tape.

Yeah the Orange RTV is what i was referring too. Make sure to clean the area which it is going to stick to VERY well.
