    sun fading......... Buffing??

    Whats the best way to get rid of the chalky sun fading?? Its all over the tank except where my knees touch. Plastic renew???

    fine grit rubbing compound.... .make sure you get the kind made for paint. then wax wax wax

    lol, me? no steps just dont grind that crap in so deep you eat up your clearcoat. take it easy and let the buffer do the work.. but also don't over rev it or you could burn a hole in the clear.

    as soon as I get a chance I am going to try bring an old tank back to life with the factory paint (from 1974) .. i'll post on here if you havent gotten to yours yet..

    also - if it is chalky, as in- there is paint coming off that might be a problem..

    DUH! YOU SAID PLASTIC RENEW - I JUST FIGURED OUT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A PLASTIC TANK. HA ..

    i wet sand with 600, 1200, 1500, and then 2000. i then hit it with a buffer and 3m hand glaze. it looks new after that!!
