    Question 110 re-fitting engine probs

I am just putting the engine back in my '85 110, but cant work out how to do in relation to putting the chain on. Currently i have the frame, with the engine sitting un attached with the chain on the back axel as it should be, although when i try and bolt in the engine, nothing aligns. Where am i going wrong?

Did you take the master link out so that you can fully remove the chain? If not remove the chain completely and mount the engine, then put the chain on.

look for a link that looks "different" it should have a clip on it... just grab up a screwdriver or needlenose pliers and pop the clip off.. just don't break it or lose the pieces.. but u can always buy a new one for ~5 bucks or less...

You can buy a regular masterlink for around $2.00. If its an o-ring it will be about 5. But just try not to loose it. Yes, you'll notice it if you look at every link, on the outside theres a clip at goes around both of the pins, you can pop it off with a screw driver or pliers and the rest will be self explanitory.

If you never took the chain off then you dont need to take it off, your just doing it wrong. Try bolting uo the motor take it off the back sprocket, attach the chain to the front, then try the back if its tangled twist it a full 180* and try that. Then once you get it on the back sproket roll it on. Just like i used to do when my bike chain fell off.

Its quite a bit easier to just pop the master link, if yours has one that is. If there is none i would take out a link and put one in. They will save alot of time in the future.
