Thumbs up SYKO flat tracker IS READY!!!!

well I almost got my flat tracker ready for next weekend (jan 20th) all I need to do (today) axle bearings, remove front tire, tighten up a few bolts, get a few bolts, and finish mounting my nerfs, the motor runs super sweet, and I'm jsut crossing my fingers right now that I dont get Billy's luck

the mods I did are more to the rear suspension than anything, I decided not to use the factory shock and get a lowering link, instead I fab'd up a mount for the shorter 200x shock, also since its not on a linkage the shock dosnt operate by leverage, and is alot harder than my factory 250R shock on a linkage system, it only sags about 1 inch with me on it (225lbs) and still has 2 inches of travel, the shock will bottom before my machine, unlike before. also I had to lenghthen my air filter intake, but that was no big deal, oh and if your woundering the front tire is going tomoorow I will have my shorter, less agresive tire on there. I also added renthal twin wall bars (wich I got for 20 beans!! new!!) with moose adapters (thanks raffa!) they raise the bars up just right and dont hit the gas tank at lock, wich I still have to trim a little off the stops yet.

now I got to pick up my numbers (thanks billy!!) add a few more stickys (got 2 3 ww stickers on there right now REPReSENT!!)

future plans are a 10 inch front wheel, wider rear end and a few other changes, but nothing major

i have a few numbers if you need any,,, also have you given any thought to using 2 spring setup on the frontend? then you can put the short spring on top of the dampening rods,,, them run forks in the stock position? safer if you happen to go over the bars,,, just a thought,,, i like the rear suspension mod too,,, i think it will work great,,,,,

I apreciate that kasey!! but I'm going to get one of my X's (she works at a sign shop) to bust me off a few for me, for the free! and since the race is next weekend I dont want to take any chances of waiting on somehting in the mail, My buget for this was very low, I havnt spend maybe 250 in the whole thing (including engine work) to get it to this point, I cant wait to rip it up!!!

also I jsut removed my short spring up front, and since the forks still have a fresh rebuild on them I think I will be ok, but... only time will tell!! if I do bail, I do it in STYLE!!!!

ohhh, not good!!! when you don't put the short spring in,,, when you gas it you get full extension on the front forks ,, which gives you a light frontend to high,,,, where as when you put the spring in... it limits the travell and gives you the weight of the front tire wheel and hub sooner and helps keep it down, sooner,,, been there ,,, set on your trike,, take a rachet strap to the roof and have someone pull it up,,, you will see how high its going to get when you come out of a corner with the power on,,, especially when your *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* is over the brab bar trying to get traction,,,

yea, those tires are easy for me to break loose on the turns, hoosiers may hook up to much plus if they slide then they will wear out quicker and since its a trike of course we got to slide!! and spending mulla on a set of tires every few races isnt my idea of fun, and these are readably available and cheap. oh and case your woundering they are waaay over inflated right now

i think you should groove them ,,your going to need more traction than those will give you,, to help equalize them in the turns,, i would do a 1/4 groove at a 45 degree angle every 20 degrees on the outside tire and maybe every 30 degrees on the inside one,,, plus stager air pressure a few pounds,,, theres more to going fast than just spinning around having fun,,,,

well finnaly tested this thing, man its stupid!! I pulled a couple high speed drifts on the pavement at a intersection close to my house in 5th gear!!, a little more vibration in my handle bars than what I want, and the front tires sucks right this minute for it but all that will change this week.
