Another Tecate Front Tire Thread
Trying to find a nice flat track style front tire for my Tecate. (the fat tired 85) Something to go with the rear Scorchers (or lawnmower tires) I want. Any imput on other Tecate front tires would be great. Does Hoosier make anything to fit?

I'd like to run this tire because its made for pavement. What would a 7 inch wide tire look like on a 8 inch wide rim? I assume the taller 22 inch tall, 7 inch wide tire would have a more rounded profile then the 21 inch tall, 7 inch wide tire correct?

This one is more dirt orientated then the Scorcher. Though it looks rugged enough to withstand some pavement action. The cool thing for us 84/85 Tecate owners is that its listed in 22/10/10 which is the size we need! I think I may order one soon if the Scorcher is not an option.

A wheel question. What is the biggest offset available for a 8 inch wide rim? 7+1? ...or would that be too weak a design to be possible?

douglas wheel makes a 8" diameter 4/4 patern wheel(red label) in a 2+6 offset. They also make a 9" wheel 4/4 pattern(black label) in a 3+6 offset. a 10" wheel in a 4/4 patern(blue, black, or red label) 4+6 offset. These are widest offsets I have seen in a 4/4 patern. Are you set on a 8" width? Are you riding on asphalt? That hf-247 looks pretty sweet. What about a ribbed front tire?

Not set on an 8 inch width but it must be 8 inch height. How wide of a 8 inch tall wheel is available?
I've been thinkin about it for a bit and the HF would probably be the best choice here. It looks durable enough and it would hook up in the dirt as well.
A ribbed tire? Like stock you mean? It would have to be solid ribs all the way around so it would last unlike a ribbed knobby. Hard to find as well isn't it?
Really need some more tire choices for the first gen T3.
