shifting on the honda 250 sx

i have a honda 250 sx and i dont know what the gears are? when the gear shifter is down as far as it goes what gear is it in and what are the other gears?

they are probally 1 down 4 up.

all the way down is neutral, then goiing up 1 - 5. To go to reverse, press down the red button on the rear brake handle, while holding it down pull the rear brake handle all the way back and shift up like going into first gear.
