That's the site for plastic, sometimes you can find lightly scratched blems on ebay cheaper. Mine has Maier plastic on it and it's very strong and holds up good. For OEM plastic, good luck, probably hard to find.

For the Clymer manual, you might find one here to download. I have one and they are WELL worth the $30, a must have. www.denniskirk.com may have them. I got mine with the trike.

    Good luck!

Does anyone know the size of the hex key it takes to get the drive shaft out. I got to take it out to get the motor out. Then I just got to take the triple trees and the rear end out. I will post pictures later.

Yeah big red projects are great and fun to do. Adam was the best around to get OEM plastic but not sure if he is around anymore. OEM looks the best. You can still get the OEM tires from service honda and get the trunk lid from maier. The cables you can get from motion pro.

Is there a way to polish and finish the motor so it would look new?

The bottom half you could paint with some nice high temp paint, the top head area you can use this stuff called Aluma Bright. It comes in a white spray bottle you get at an auto store. You spray it on and let it sit for awhile and then spray it out with pressured hose.

OK I Finally got it down to the frame. How do you get the swingarm off. Do you use allen wrenches?I am taking it to school to sandblast it tomorow. My mechanics teacher found some cool looking paint for the frame. It is perlesent. The kind that changes color in different light. It is red and blue. What do you all think? Would you buy something like that? I just want someone else's opinion just in case I want to sell it.

yeah red would look good. I just thought it would be kinda neat to have it change colors between red abd blue.

ScottZJ, that is one nice Big Red you got there! Is that the 87 that is listed for sale in your sig? If so, how much do you think it's worth? What are you asking? Also, I have a 87 with near mint plastic, just light scratches. All of the decals are perfect and original, but I do not have that Big Red decal on the front fender. Not even a trace of one. Did they come with those decals in 87? Or did you add it?

You can get a decal kit from a member here on this board or there is a guy on ebay that sells them too.

scottzj, thats a really sweet looking red. makes me want to find one a restore it soo bad. I know where 7 big reds are and no one will part with them. Putting different color plastics on the would take the point of BIG RED away LOL i like the idea of the color changeing paint. on the motor part you could sand blast the entire thing and spay it with high temp engine paint.
