    Auto R ???

alright... I am thinking of upgrading the wife to an R... Problem is she has no ambition to learn to use a clutch... I was wondering if this could be retrofitted to fit an 85-86 R.... anyone have any technical knowledge on the cross over of current clutch packs to the years forementioned ?

I have no idea if you could cross refrence one of those bikes to an R, but that looks like a preaty trick product. Id like to try one sometime, expecialy cool that you can still use the clutch if you like.

well with the beating I took on the SX last weekend in Rasor...
I am sure that if I can make my wife more comfortable on a R (suspension wise) its worth it... making her happy and keeping her on the trail with me is what I am looking for, I am not into leaving her home when I go and have fun

    Auto X?

Would a Auto X work for her? The 200x is a pretty nice Trike and you can throw a ATC 200 Auto in there pretty easy I guess. Make for a nice Sporty trail rider and fun to cruise on. A 250r auto would be pretty sick.

well, while I am not looking to kill my wife... I would like her to be able to follow me up any hill when her confidence and experience level rises... and for that I think its gonna have to be a pinger.... I like to try the hardest stuff I can find in the sand

You really cant have your cake and eat it too. If she is unwilling to learn to use a manual clutch, then a high performance really just isnt in the cards. As I see it, your only two choices are to wait on her, or she learn to ride a more high performance machine. If the suspension SX is the issue, you would be better off to tune the existing suspension to the rider. It doesnt have as much travel as an R, but it can be made just as soft.

Your only other option is an auto quad, such as one of the Polaris pingers, or one of the larger displacement utilities.

I agree...if she doesnt want to deal with a manual clutch than an R may not be the right bike...my 350x got me everywhere in the dunes...but still a manual clutch.
