    speedo cables

What are you guys all using for speedo cables on your 350x's and 250r's? I have a couple of cables for the 200es models and i know i can get them for the sx/es im just afraid they wont be long enough. Also can i use a big red drive on my 85 R since it is right side drive or is the gearing different?

You can use the 250es drive on the water R's and 350x's, but the speed displayed will be off by 3.5 percent (or something like that, I can't remember the exact number).

As far as cable go, I don't think the 200es cable is long enough, actually, I'm pretty sure it's not long enough. The SX cables MAY be long enough, but I'm not sure. You can use a motorcycle cable too, just as long as it has the same connections on both ends (some of the 2-wheelers use different connections).

the 250sx cable is not long enough either. I used an XR200 dirt bike cable on mine. It was a little long but not bad.

I bought one from Denniskirk for mine. It fits a ton of Honda road and trail bikes. I haven't instailed it yet but it looks like it will fit the 200x fine, I don't remember if it would be long enough to fit a 250r or not though. Here is the link to the one I bought... http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...001&mmyId=3791

if the drive keys are the same you could use a cable from a old ski-doo blizzard. they are about 4-5 feet long. but it comes down to the keys.
down to parts because i no longer have a place to ride trikes.

You might want to have someone measure an actual one and then use it to compare. I'll think to do it the next time I'm at the shop. Maybe someone closer has one you can measure. Swinehart still got his 350X? Last time I knew he had a Honda one.

If my memory serves me correct: the 250r/350x cables are 32 inches in length.

Yeah have someone measure the Hondaline speedo cable. I will see if my brother will measure the cable I bought which fits the XR200/250 and a bunch of other bikes.

Besides he owes me, the speedo cable broke on his bike so I gave him the one I bought because it happened to also fit his bike .

The older CB 350 street bike cable works great, its just a tad longer than you need.
